ECUMENICAL ANIMAL BLESSING Please join us on Saturday, September 25th 2010 at 10am at ChristChurch Stouffville (254 Sunset Blvd.) for a service of the Blessing of the Animals. Coming out of the wisdom and faith of the 12th century monk Francis of Assisi a history of celebrating God's creatures and our domestic pets developed. We will be celebrating the wonderful array of animals and pets in our world as we invite you to bring your beloved pets to this service of blessing and thanksgiving. We will be joined by representatives and service animals from the York Regional Police, St. John's Ambulance, Autism Society and more. Through music and prayer we will give thanks to God for His gift of creation and the animals with which we share this world. There will be a chance to have your photo taken with your pet and to have this photo placed on a certificate to commemorate the blessing. As well, following the service we will be having a BBQ with the proceeds going to local animal charities. This day promises to be one of fellowship, fun and a celebration of the bond between animals and human beings. During the service there will be a time to honour those pets who have died through prayers and through a slide tribute made possible by O'Neill's Funeral Home here in Stouffville. If you would like to have a photo of your deceased pet included in this tribute you can e-mail it to admin@stouffvilleanglican.ca or fh7340@arbormemorial.com or drop the photo off at ChristChurch or at O'Neill's Funeral Home (6324 Main Street). Along with the photo please include the pet's name, date of birth, and date of passing. We ask that these photos and the information be dropped off by Friday, September 17th.
