Performed by the Christ Church Choir, directed by the talented and world-renowned pianist Valentin Bogolubov, this sacred cantata by Theodore Dubois is a series of seven musical meditations on the messages and the universal resonances of Jesus’ Seven Last Words, or phrases, spoken from the cross, as gathered from the four Christian Gospels narrating the Crucifixion of Jesus.
